He just beat the highest score in ODI which was earlier held by Saeed Anwar scoring 194 runs.
And now he goes past 200 in ODI.
2 World Record shattered withing few minutes …
Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] became the first man in the history of cricket to hit a double century in ODIs against South Africa [ Images ] in the second One-Day International, in Gwalior, on Wednesday.
It was Tendulkar at his vintage best as he blazed his way to 200 from a mere 147 deliveries, having hit 25 boundaries and three sixes.
Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ] also thrived in the good batting conditions to smash 68 from 35 balls, inclusive of five boundaries and three sixes, to take India [ Images ] to a huge 401 for three in the 50th over.
The previous record for the highest score in ODIs belonged to former Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar and Zimbabwe's Charles Coventry, who both made 194.
Opener Virender Sehwag [ Images ] was dismissed early when he slashed at a wide delivery from Wayne Parnell [ Images ] and was caught by Dale Steyn [ Images ] on the third man boundary for nine in the fourth over. Dinesh Karthik [ Images ] made 79 from 85 deliveries, inclusive of four boundaries and three sixes, before he was caught by Herschelle Gibbs [ Images ] at midwicket off Wayne Parnell. He was involved in a record stand of 194 runs in 177 deliveries for the second wicket with Tendulkar, India's best against South Africa.
Yusuf Pathan [ Images ] hit four boundaries and two sixes in his 23-ball 36, before was caught in the covers by AB de Villiers [ Images ] off Roelof van der Merwe [ Images ]. Pathan and Tendulkar shred the bowling attack to pieces as they added 81 runs in 43 deliveries for the fourth wicket.
Earlier, India retained the same combination that won the first ODI and had no hesitation in electing to bat on a flat wicket in Gwalior.
Meanwhile South Africa made three changes to their squad hoping to give everyone in their 15-man squad a chance to test their mettle in Indian conditions keeping the 2011 World Cup in mind.
The in-form Hashim Amla [ Images ] replaced opener Loots Bosman while left-hander JP Duminy [ Images ] replaced all-rounder Albie Morkel [ Images ]. There was one more change with left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe replacing Johan Botha [ Images ].
It is a must-win match for South Africa after going down in the first game by one run in a thrilling finish.
